Residential Tenancies Practice Guide
The Queensland Government implemented temporary regulatory measures to support residential tenancies impacted by COVID-19.
The Residential Tenancies Practice Guide provides practical advice to help renters, property owners and property managers navigate the changes for residential tenancies and rooming accommodation.
On 20 October 2021 the domestic and family violence (DFV) protections introduced under the COVID-19 residential tenancies response became permanent.
Other important measures continue to apply until 30 April 2022:
- protections for tenants against being listed in a tenancy database for rent arrears caused by COVID-19 impacts
- limits on re-letting costs for eligible tenants who end their fixed term tenancies early
- short term tenancy statement extensions for moveable dwellings.
